Zwick Roell has offered pendulum impact testers that offer high levels of accuracy for impact testing of plastics as well as metals for more than 10 years.

The company recently introduced a new line of drop weight testers that completes the company’s portfolio of impact testing systems for every application in plastics and composites. The Amsler HIT systems feature an energy range of a few joules up to 100,000 joules, supporting tests on specimens as well as components.

Boris Plach, product manager for Zwick Roell, commented: “Our customers are responding to increased demand for testing as engineered plastics and composites replace conventional materials in the design cycle. Balancing needs for accuracy and throughput, our customers require instruments that deliver reliable test results and offer the flexibility to perform a range of tests, including tests on material specimens and components.”

The new Amsler HIT1100F and HIT2000F drop weight testers accommodate rapid changeovers through ergonomic features such as an integrated T-slot platform. The T-slot platform enables flexible fixture positioning to secure components and support a wide range of tests, often at angles that are smaller or larger than 90°.
