Composite materials derived from natural, renewable sources have received significant interest in recent years, in particular due to the increased awareness of environmental issues and the drive towards more sustainable technologies.
With peer-reviewed papers, Ecocomp 2019 will focus on composite materials derived from sustainable sources, explore the future direction of international research and application of sustainable materials, polymers and composites within the academic, industrial and wider social environments.
Areas to be addressed include (but are not limited to): Natural fibre reinforcements. • Recycled fibre reinforcements; Wood fibre composites; Bio-derived resins; Biodegradable composites; Eco-design; Durability and testing; Life cycle studies; Recycling of composites; Case study applications.
In the first instance, prospective authors are invited to submit a short abstract via the conference website - ecocomp-conference.com. Accepted abstracts will then be asked to submit full papers and on final acceptance, authors will be invited to present at the conference and the paper included in the Ecocomp 2019 proceedings.
Sue Keighley, conferences manager at NetComposites, commented: “We’re delighted to be announcing the Call for Papers for Ecocomp 2019. In particular, we’re excited to reintroduce the peer review and have an International Scientific Committee in place to provide expertise, headed by Steven Brown of Scott Bader and Joe Carruthers of Coventive Composites. Past Ecocomp conferences have proved hugely successful in providing a forum for the development of eco-friendly composites and it’s the perfect place for researchers, suppliers, OEMs and end-users to discuss the requirements and the routes to market.”
