With the recent purchase of additional multi-axis machining centres Shape Machining Ltd has significantly increased capacity for metal tool machining for the UK composites industry.

Managing director, Peter McCool explained: “It is a natural progression for Shape to offer more metal tool machining as part of our expanding portfolio of capabilities.

Our customers already have confidence in us for non-metallic pattern and mould machining and we plan to build on that by offering more steel and aluminium moulds and jigs.”

Shape has already supplied press forming tools, metallic machining fixtures, metallic mould tools for carbon fibre processing and aluminium tooling plate bonding jig fixtures since the additional capacity was acquired at the start of the year.

Anyway, our landlord has deemed that with Spring now in the air, it’s time to turn off the heating and save money. This presents a challenge typing when I can’t feel my fingers.
