JEC World: Chem-Trend to present latest gen release agents

Chem-Trend, a company of the Freudenberg Chemical Specialities Group, will present the latest generation of release agents for the composite industry at JEC World in Paris from 5-7 March.

The company will focus on ecologically sustainable solutions at the world's largest trade fair for composite materials, which offers companies along the entire value chain a communicative platform. Many release agents of the Chemlease and Zyvax brands are characterised by the features "water-based" and "PFAS-free".

Chem-Trend will highlight its portfolio of water-based release agents at JEC World 2024. The solutions are free of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in the latest generation, underscoring Chem-Trend's commitment to ecologically sustainable technologies. Also, Chem-Trend has recently been awarded the EcoVadis Gold rating in 2023, which is a testament to the company’s steadfast dedication to sustainability and corporate responsibility.

The technological shift away from solvent-based to water-based release agents in the shaping of composite materials is an important contribution of the industry to reducing its own ecological CO2 footprint. The water-based release agent solutions of the Chem-Trend brands Zyvax and Chemlease support the user on this path and offer uncompromising performance for efficient and smooth production processes.

“Given the urgent need to develop ecologically sustainable solutions for the composite materials industry, we are very excited to present our commitment to this area at JEC World 2024", said Daniel Brambeer, field sales manager composite DACH and Italy at Chem-Trend. “Our PFAS-free release agents underscore our innovative strength as well as our efforts to minimize negative impacts on the environment without compromising on performance.”

Chem-Trend sees enormous potential in terms of sustainability in wind energy - but there is also a catch: the production process, especially of rotor blades for wind turbines, is associated with ecological challenges. Expensive raw materials and complex, differentiated shaping processes are used in the production of large components. How Chem-Trend specifically supports the optimization of these processes both in terms of efficiency and sustainability will be one of the significant topics at the Paris trade fair.
