Wytchcraft Composites has announced its recent move into larger waterside premises at Northshore Shipyard, Chichester Harbour, West Sussex.

The modern 20,000ft2 manufacturing factory was originally opened by HRH, The Princess Royal in 2010 and will provide the company with increased capacity to meet its production demands. The facilities include a 30t overhead crane, ventilated areas for composites lay-up, yard space and launching facilities into the harbour.

Wytchcraft Composites is a composites manufacturer of GRP tooling and mouldings, producing hulls, decks and components for high performance rigid inflatables, superyacht tenders and monohull watercraft, ranging from 4-15m overall length. With over 30 years’ experience, it meets the demands of clients from marine and superyacht industries, who require cost effective solutions for lightweight composite structures and mouldings for low and medium volume production.

Wytchcraft offers a variety of integral services including project management to ensure the best manufacturing solutions, from design for manufacture, pattern making, tooling, production and assembly. The company works alongside many designers on custom builds as well as full production builds, producing a wide range of craft with their own unique requirements and features.

It can manufacture patterns, either crafted by hand using traditional methods or by utilising the latest 5-axis CNC machining technology, to produce highest standard of finish to exact customer specification. Wytchcraft’s manufacturing capabilities include fibreglass mouldings with traditional wet lay up in GRP and composite, through to vacuum assisted processes. Complete or partial fit outs are built to Lloyds approval and SOLAS specification.

“We specialise in taking projects from concept through to completion,” Sean Singleton, managing director, commented. “It is of great importance that we meet the specific requirements of each client and develop a long lasting, trusted partnership. We have produced a wide range of plugs, moulds and tooling, developing methods to produce high tech tooling systems from splash to full production and infusion moulds.

“We work with clients and Lloyds register of Shipping to produce a number of 'SOLAS' certificated fast rescue tenders. On site we have climate controlled manufacturing facilities where we can monitor and record all the necessary criteria, to adhere to stringent quality procedures to Lloyds registered of shipping and DNV.”
