Following the UK’s departure from the European Union, UK-based Easy Composites hopes to serve its EU customers ‘better than ever’ with the opening of a new European subsidiary.
Easy Composites Group - a leading manufacturer and distributor of materials and equipment for advanced composites based in the UK - has announced that trading has now started at its new European subsidiary in the Netherlands.
The company made the decision to expand its operations with a physical presence inside the European Union both to overcome delays and complications following Brexit, but also to provide a “better than ever” service to customers in mainland Europe, according to the group’s sales director, Matthew Statham.
The new subsidiary operates from a fully stocked distribution centre offering fast, ‘frictionless’ shipping to customers in all mainland EU countries and Ireland, with the Netherlands having been selected due to its relatively central location in Europe, as well as its excellent transport connections both as a hub into Europe and also back to the UK.
This substantial investment will ensure that EU customers can once again expect a seamless service from Easy Composites, with faster delivery times and the elimination of potential border delays and complications which have impacted the company’s trade with the EU since January 2021.
The company also plans to open a new demonstration room at the Rijen site where European customers can more easily see and test the firm’s range of composites process equipment, including curing ovens and degassing systems, which it manufactures under the ‘ECP’ brand at its main site in the UK.
Composites training courses, which the company has provided at its UK site for the past 10 years, will also soon be offered at the Netherlands site, making these highly sought-after courses more accessible than ever to European customers.
Business and individuals within the EU wishing to buy from Easy Composites can now use the new www.easycomposites.eu website which displays live stock levels at the EU warehouse and offers real-time calculation of shipping for parcel and pallet deliveries to all mainland EU countries.
“This expansion marks a significant milestone for Easy Composites and we are very excited about the future for us in Europe with this facility and incredible team in place,” said Matt Statham, sales director at Easy Composites. “With the establishment of our subsidiary inside the EU, we know that we can not only return to providing pre-Brexit levels of service to our EU customers but in fact provide a service that’s better than ever with our full product range ready for immediate shipment, as well as an accessible location for customer collections, product demonstrations, open days and training courses.”
Jeroen van den Hout, managing director at Easy Composites EU, added: “Since the start of the year we have worked non-stop to make this ambitious move a reality. The Covid pandemic made it almost impossible to travel between the UK and Netherlands and so most of the setup - from finding the site through to the installation of bespoke rolling, packing and order processing systems – has all been handled remotely. It feels great to have now opened the doors on this new facility, and already be processing hundreds of orders and know that this is just the beginning.”
