The Annual Conference takes place on 10th May at WMG, Warwick, and is a must-attend event for companies wanting to keep up-to-speed with strategic thinking, learn of forthcoming opportunities for business development and hear about new developments in technology, processes and materials.
Speakers at this event include Airbus, Atkins and GKN Land Systems, plus AIM Composites, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), British Standards Institution (BSI), MPM, Safran Nacelles and more.
The event will look at the current strategy and future development of the composites industry and will include details on the new apprenticeship scheme which will play a critical part in furthering the UK workforce.
Dr. Sue Halliwell, operations manager at Composites UK said; “There is a current focus on growing sectors such as automotive, and emerging sectors such as construction and energy, where the need for affordable composite solutions is paramount. Opportunities for glass fibre and carbon fibre based composites will be shared at the Annual Conference, helping companies plan for potential future demand – based on cost alone, glass fibre will have a significant role in these sectors.”
On the following day (11th May 2017) the Association is working jointly with the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) on an automotive sector showcase event where speakers include Ford Motor Company and Jaguar Land Rover, with more to be announced.
