Composites UK, the trade association for the UK composites supply chain, has launched a series of regional SME roadshow events for 2017 in partnership with the National Composites Centre (NCC).

The first of these covers the Bristol and South West region and takes place on the 22nd March, fittingly at the NCC.

These regional events showcase the financial and business services available in each area and includes case studies from local companies highlighting how they have used support or collaboration to further their products, technology and in turn, their customer base.

At this south west event the case studies will come from local firms Aro PR and Marketing, Composite Integration, Optima Projects, R-TECH Services and TMB Patterns.

Claire Whysall, communications manager at Composites UK said: “Many composites companies are unaware of the support available to them on their doorstep, or are daunted about who to approach and what they would be eligible for. These events help demystify what is accessible in an informal setting, with the case studies highlighting how others within the composites industry are actively using funding, tax credit rebates, technology programmes and more - if they can do it, others can to.

“When we’ve run these events in the past we’ve found that they’ve also served to connect companies from the same area who previously hadn’t known of each other, resulting in new business opportunities and strengthening the composites supply chain in the area.”

Alison Starr, executive director - strategy and business at the National Composites Centre, added: “The NCC is very pleased to be working in partnership with Composites UK on a series of regional events aimed at growing UK businesses through a number of different interventions. The NCC will be introducing the attendees to our research and development capability and explaining the benefits of the NCC SME focused support work packages for early stage, feasibility or introductory work. We are very excited about this opportunity to help empower the exploitation of composites opportunities through the supply chain in the UK.”

Registration is open for the Bristol and south west event is open via the Composites UK website and is free-of-charge to attend.
